The two week countdown begins...

Howdy y'all! Our visit to the US has been absolutely wonderful! I have been sooooo busy, you wouldn’t believe! However, I have found that the saying "time flies when you're having fun" really is true. But then, I've found that time usually flies either way. Hmmm...

I find it hard to believe that it has already been almost 3 months since my family and I left the Good Ol' PI and travelled to the distant land of America. We have had a wonderful time since we arrived in June visiting family and friends and spending a lot of time driving around. Our fund raising has gone very well. By the way, I have great news! I am very happy to let you all know that all the $200 a month which I was raising has now been promised. It is wonderful how God helps things work out for you. I thank him for all the wonderful people that are helping me.

On a different note: I am (unofficially) officially finished with high school! I took my GED (General Education Development Test) on August 14 & 15 and am awaiting my results. I feel REALLY good about it. While I was studying I was very nervous, but after the first part of the exam I calmed down. It was much easier than I expected and I feel I did very well. Either that, or I will find out that I flunked. I guess I'll find out soon enough :).

We have been put to work during this furlough! My dad's parents had us pour a concrete slab for them while we were in Tarpley in July, and we are now working in College Station on my mom's parents house putting in wood floors and painting walls. I have discovered muscles that I never knew existed. It's quite strange... Even though I'm sore, I'm glad we've been able to help my grandparents. Nothing lets you feel like you're alive more than pain, it seems. I have been frequently reminded that I have legs, arms, and a back :D.

This weekend we'll be heading to the hill country to visit my dad's folks. After the weekend we'll return to College Station to prepare for the celebration of my mom's folks' 50th anniversary! The whole family will be getting together and having a blast! We're all so excited because this is the first time in 16 years that we've all been together in one place. This isn't surprising, seeing as we are a family of about 35 people. That is, of course, counting only my grandparents, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I have two cousins who I've never even met! Living across the globe will do that to you :). Like I said, we're all excited about this reunion.

I would like to ask a favor from you all. Even though I have all my support, my brother, sister, and brother-in-law are still lacking funds. I ask if you could keep them in your prayers, so that something will pull through for them. If any of you would like to help, please email me and I'll help you get in touch with them.

Thanks for your interest in my life. I appreciate you taking the time to see what's going on with me. I'm going to try and put some pictures on the site, but I don't have that many. I'll see what I can do. Till next time!
