Hello from the lovely (and wet) city of Cebu!
(Belated) Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I hope and pray your holiday season was as fun and restful as mine was. We were blessed with two weeks of vacation at the end of last year. I used the first few days of mine to get a few things done, and then Amy and I packed up and headed for Mom and Dad’s. We stayed with them for the remaining time and spent most of the time catching up on sleep, visiting, baking, and just plain goofing off. It was nice to have a break after a hectic 2011.
Right before our break, we went, once again, to the airport to bid Rachael, Clint, Andrew and Lily farewell for a time. They left Cebu December 14 and are currently in the Texas. They will be state-side until mid-April. Please keep their safety and fundraising efforts in your prayers. If you would like to see them, send me a note and I can forward it to them, I know they will love to visit with anyone they can!
This week has been rather hectic. We have been distributing flyers, preparing class materials, cleaning, making bags for the BSC to give away to students, and many other tedious preparation tasks for our new series of classes for 2012. I am trying to prepare our Children's Class curriculum, and I recently took over some of Clint and Rachael’s responsibilities. As you may imagine, I'm going kind of crazy, but the Lord is helping keep the balance. Please keep all of us in your prayers. We have much to do, but I am quite eager!
This evening was our second night of our seminar during enrollment week for Session 1 of 2012! Dad is teaching our seminar titled “Does God approve of Homosexuality?”. Dad is taking us through a study of what society says about homosexuality and how it compares with what God tells us in the scriptures. This is quite a controversial topic in the world today and we hope that it will get people thinking. We have a few new faces which has me quite excited. I look forward to what the Lord plans to lay in our path this new year. I am enjoying the seminar too, as this is a touchy topic which is considered taboo by some. We often talk of homosexuality being wrong, but sometimes people are not sure of WHY. If you are interested to see what Dad has to say, we should have our videos for the seminar up on our videos page (see link after signature) in a week or so. I look forward to January 16th, which is when we start our session of classes. Please continue keeping our efforts to reach out to this people in your prayers.
Thank you for your continued friendship and interest in my family and me. May God bless you in 2012 as he has in 2011...
In him,
Sara Murrell
