December was full of rest, relaxation, and a little work. We took our long needed break from renovating at the office. We worked on all kinds of things at the house, from painting to cabinet work. We got a lot of things finished in the house.
January started up with the usual bang, fireworks and all. We went with the Emperado's to their beach house in Calag-Calag and had a GREAT time. We slept soooo much! It was wonderful! We hadn’t had a chance to rest like that. We had a bonfire and made our own fireworks with the sparks, and we ate s’mores. Yummy :).
After vacation we got back to work. We had an Open House to inaugurate the opening of our new back room. We had a pretty good group there and some enrollees. The next week our session started. That session one of our teachers Cheryl and I taught the class Jesus: Lord of Our Lives. This class is the one we use for going through the gospel with our students. We had only one student, the mother of two of our sisters Gina and Meljane, Jessie Calde. I am happy to announce that after the completion of our class, she decided to be immersed. She was immersed into Christ on March 7, 2008. We were all very happy! Dad was saying that it's my first notch in my Bible :). Cheryl and I are glad that the Lord could use us as instruments to help Jessie see the truth.
February started with much worrying and sewing. We were busy making preparations for the wedding of my brother Jon and his fiancée Gina. My grandparents Ken and Margie Wilkey and my cousin Ronald Feller were able to come and visit. Nathan Dunn, one of our previous apprentice missionaries, was even able to take a week off from school and come for the wedding. I think we were all a little more stressed than Jon about everything; he just wanted to be married. Mom would get furious when she asked him about decorations or something, because he just didn’t care. Anyway, then wedding happened. He was handsome and she was gorgeous. It was a lot of fun. I just don’t like walking up hills in heels. It hurts. :) I would like to thank all of you for your prayers for Mr. and Mrs. Jon Murrell. They are very happy.
After the wedding, life went on as usual. We finished our session of classes and had our graduation on the 8th of March. My grandfather, Ken Wilkey, held a seminar for us at the BSC from the 10th to the 13th of March on the book of Galatians to draw students for our next session. It was very interesting to hear what he had to say. Session 2 of classes at the BSC started up on the 17th. We have been holding classes every evening since then and they are going great. Please pray for our students, we have 6 who are studying the course Jesus: Lord of Our Lives. Also please keep my family and I in your prayers.
I hope this gets all of you up to date. Thank you for your prayers, please keep them coming! I appreciate your love and support! Please feel free to email me anytime and I’ll do my best to keep in contact!
In him...
Sara Murrell
