As I mentioned in my previous report, the Wilkey clan was getting together for a reunion in celebration of my grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary. We all had a wonderful time! We came together for a family day at the Huntsville State Park in Huntsville, Texas on September 1. We spent all day by the lake, fishing, visiting and enjoying one another’s company. I haven’t had so much fun in a long time :). It was a day that will not be forgotten very soon. The next day we had a reception for anyone and everyone who wanted to come and had a wonderful time seeing people I haven’t seen for years. We all had a blast! :)
The rest of our week before our flight out of the country was not really a fun one, though. Saying good-bye to all our family after just getting re-acquainted with them was not the nicest thing in the world to have to do. Even though we didn’t want it to, the day of our departure came and we left College Station, once and for all for the next two years, and headed for the George Bush International Airport in Houston. The drive was gloomy and it rained. Not the perfect day for air travel, hehe :).
Our trip home was not an uneventful one. We checked in and went to our waiting room and began the first part of our veeeeeeery long day. We left Houston on the evening of the 7th and arrived in the afternoon of the 9th. This was, of course, taking into account our flying over the International Date Line. Our flights took us from Houston to Seattle, Seattle to Taipei, Taipei to Manila, and finally from Manila to our beloved Cebu City. We were ecstatic to finally get back. Every flight that brought us closer made us more excited! We got back to our dog, cat, house, and BEDS!!! The first night of sleep was wonderful :).
Needless to say, I've had my fill of international travel for a long time.
Ever since then we have been busy, busy, busy! We successfully got over our jet lag and things are pretty much back to their regular madness. Things in the house and the BSC are very well. We were very happy to see everyone our first Sunday back, and have had fellowship with the assembly in Southside for three Sundays now.
Session 5 was still ongoing when we arrived and was in their last week. We were up at the BSC visiting with teachers and students and getting back in the swing of things for the first week. We had the graduation for Session 5 and got all the teachers together to plan our next session, Session 6. I am glad of the opportunity to get to teach again and am anxious for the session to start. We already have many enrollees. In an effort to attract more interest, my father, Barry Murrell, is also teaching a seminar October 2 through 5 titled “Is the Bible YOU are Using from GOD or from MEN?” We have found seminars work well for attracting students.
I would like to ask you all for prayers for our work, the seminar, classes, the brethren here, and everyone and anything you can think of. We have so much going on right now and are so excited about what might come from it. It’s all in his hands.
Thanks for your love and support!
In him...
Sara Murrell
